WHAT I DO DIFFERENTLY

Every outlet I enjoy is rooted in creativity. I knit, paint, dance, garden, cook, climb, read, embroider, draw– and I’m pulled towards anything bold, colourful and sparkly.
This flows through into my unique approach to writing. I draw inspiration from different creative mediums to infuse copy with bright ideas, unusual approaches and infectious energy.
In the decade since undertaking my English Literature degree, I’ve turned my hand to all different forms of writing: critical essays, news articles, poetry collections, blogs (and an entire literary fiction novel, which will stay hidden within the depths of my laptop forever and never see the light of day).
My diverse and varied writing history helps me bring a balanced perspective to any new project or brief.
Precision matters, especially when you’re working with playful (and often messy) creative ideas. I pride myself on meticulous grammar, syntax and formatting– AKA, all the boring but very necessary stuff.
Through my experience as a newspaper editor, a journalist, a copy editor and a proofreader, no mistake ever slips through the net. The result: flawless, high quality copy that reads beautifully and exudes professionalism.
I create content for diverse businesses in a number of different industries: health and wellness, beauty, fashion, food, tech and more. I love crafting fresh tones of voice, researching new topics, and throwing myself into projects with a curious, open-minded approach.
(Fun fact: after graduating with a degree in English Literature, I then studied Ecology, Biodiversity and Environmental Sciences at the University of Denver. Turns out creative writing and the natural world go beautifully hand in hand.)

Outside of writing, I’m also obsessed with my garden! In the pursuit of a more sustainable, self-sufficient lifestyle, I’m on a journey learning how to grow my own food, herbs and flowers in my little greenhouse space (aka, my pride and joy).

I run a book club with my good friend Jodie: The Story Social. It’s grown into a lovely community of like-minded women, and it’s all about connection, conversation and good books. We host the club in-person in Notts, along with creative events and workshops.
